MANSFIELD, CT β€” A wet road during heavy rains was blamed for a crash that took. out a pair of utility poles in Mansfield, state police said.

The crash took place at 11 p.m. Saturday, state police said.

According to a crash report, a 2009 Acura MDX sport utility vehicle being driven by a 27-year-old Windham man was headed south on Route 32 in Mansfield. The Acura veered to the right, hit a utility pole, then crossed the center line, ran off the left side of the road and hit another utility pole, according to a crash report.

The driver said hydroplaning caused the crash, according to a report. He was taken to Windham Hospital as a precaution, state police said.
