Car Slams Into Utility Pole In Mansfield

MANSFIELD, CT — A car took out a utility pole in a crash in Mansfield Sunday, according to a state police report.

The crash took place at 7:46 p.m. on Baxter Road, state police said.

According to a crash report, a 2009 Honda Accord driven by a 21-year-old Westbury, NY, man was heading south on Baxter Road, about two-tenths-of-a-mile north or Middle Turnpike, when it veered into the opposite lane and struck a wooden utility pole on the northbound shoulder.

The driver was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries, state police said. No charges were filed at the scene, but the crash is still being investigated, state police said.
