STORRS, CT β€” A vehicle wound up on a sidewalk in a busy part of Storrs after a crash, state police said.

The accident took place at 4:26 p.m. Wednesday on Storrs Road near the Horsebarn Hill intersection, state police said.

According to a crash report, a 2021 Mazda 3 Premium being driven by a 74-year-old Ashford man was heading South on Storrs Road. A 2012 Acura TL with a 21-year-old Windsor man behind the wheel was heading north, according to a crash report.

The Acura experiences "an equipment failure"and veered to the left and hot the Mazda on its driver's side, according to a crash report. The Madza spun out and wound up stopping on the southbound sidewalk, according to a crash report.

Both drivers were evaluated by medical crews at the scene but refused further treatment, according to a crash report.
