Cars Collide As 'Herd Of Deer' Crosses Road In Mansfield
Deer crossing apparently did not catch the attention of a young driver in a big car in Mansfield last week as her car hit another.

MANSFIELD, CT — One driver in a small car apparently saw the large number of deer crossing the road one evening last week. Another driving a big car did not and the result was a rear-end collision, state police said.
The incident took place at 6:20 p.m. on Oct. 10, according to a crash report. The "herd" was crossing a section of Storrs Road near the Mansfield Dam and a 53-year-old woman from Willimantic stopped her 2016 Ford Fusion to let the animals cross, according to a crash report.
Along came another Ford, but a much larger one. A 2006 Ford Five Hundred Ltd. being driven by a 23-year-old woman from Mansfield slammed into the Fusion from behind, according to a crash report.
