Cyclist Airlifted To Hospital After Collision In Mansfield

MANSFIELD, CT — A Mansfield man was taken to an area hospital via Life Star helicopter after his bicycle collided with a pickup truck last week in Mansfield.

State police released details of the Oct. 23 incident this week.

At 6:35 a.m. that day, a 2017 Chevrolet Colorado being driven by a 29-year-old Bristol man was headed east on Route 44 and a 40-year-old cyclist from Mansfield was headed west, according to a crash report.

The truck suddenly turned left onto Walters Avenue and collided with the bicycle in the process, according to a crash report.

The cyclist was transported to Windham Hospital and then airlifted to Hartford Hospital with serious injuries, according to a crash report.
