DEEP Cops Make Arrest In Connection With Sex Assault At State Park In Eastern Connecticut

Charges have been filed in connection with a sexual assault at an eastern Connecticut state park.

POMFRET, CT — Charges have been filed in connection with a sexual assault at an eastern Connecticut state park.

The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection announced Thursday that the DEEP Environmental Conservation Police have arrested John Bradley, 46, of Danielson, in connection with a sexual assault case that occurred in Mashamoquet Brook State Park in Pomfret.

In November of 2025, EnCon Police were notified of a report of a "past sexual assault of a minor" that occurred within the park's boundaries, DEEP officials said.

EnCon investigators, in coordination with the Connecticut Department of Children and Families, initiated an investigation to develop further information related to the complaint and Bradley was identified as a suspect, DEEP officials said. Bradley, was a known acquaintance of the victim, DEEP officials said.

As a result of the investigation, an arrest warrant was issued by Danielson Superior Court on April 7 and Bradley was taken into custody by EnCon investigators and processed at Connecticut State Police Troop D in Danielson that same day.

Bradley's charges are:

  • First-degree sexual Assault
  • Risk of injury to a minor
  • Second-degree threatening

Bradley is being held on $150,000 court-set bond and is due in court on April 22, judicial system records show.
