Details of 2016-17 UConn Women's Hoop Schedule Released

STORRS, CT — The defending national champion University of Connecticut women’s basketball team has finalized dates for its 2016-17 schedule.

The announcement was made by the American Athletic Conference on Friday.

The 11-time national champion Huskies team will play 29 regular-season games, including 16 games against American Athletic Conference opponents.

Following a non-conference slate that includes 10 games against opponents that played in the 2016 NCAA Tournament and seven games against teams that advanced to the NCAA regional semifinal, the Huskies will open conference play at UCF on Sunday, Jan. 1.

The new 16-game American schedule format features home-and-home contests against East Carolina, SMU, Temple, Tulane, Tulsa, and USF. UConn will play at UCF and Cincinnati only and will play Houston and Memphis at home only.

The fourth annual American Athletic Conference Tournament is slated for March 3 to 6 at the Mohegan Sun Arena.

Unlisted game times and television information will be announced at a later date.
