Details Released On Mansfield School Bus Crash
A school bus crashed in Mansfield the day students returned to from the holiday break.

MANSFIELD, CT — State police on Friday released the details of a school bus crash on the day Mansfield students returned from the holiday break.
The crash took place at 3:50 p.m. on Jan. 2 on Hunting Lodge Road, according to a report.
The school bus traveled off the the right shoulder and hit an Eversource Energy pole, which cracked in half, according to a report. Wires fell but did not affect the bus, according to a report.

On board were 24 students in pre-K through Grade 4 from Goodwin School, state police said. No injuries were reported.
State police saw no skid marks at the scene and there were no witnesses, according to a report. The bus siustained damage to the right-side morror and side, state police said. The road was closed for several hours, according to a report.

A UConn Ambulance team set up a warming area and school administrators and staffers were on hand to comfort the children, according to a report.
The bus driver was cited for a moving violation, state police said.
