Drug Task Force Sting Nets Arrest of Mansfield Man

Police say Peter Finnegan, 22, faces numerous drug-related charges, including heroin-dealing.

Police netted a little more than cheap eats when they did a drive-through at the McDonald's on Route 31 in Vernon Wednesday evening, and a Storrs man is facing a plethora of drug charges as a result.Β 

On Wednesday at about 6 p.m., members of the East Central Narcotics Task Force conducted a buy-bust operation on 22-year-old Peter Finnegan, a man described as an alleged heroin dealer in a task force news release.

Finnegan lives at 399 Eagleville Road in Storrs, police said. The sting took place in the McDonald's parking lot.Β 

Task force members seized more than 2 grams of of crack cocaine, 30 bags of heroin, some marijuana and "other drug paraphernalia," according to the release.Β 

Finnegan was charged with:Β 

β€’ Heroin possession
β€’ The sale of heroin
β€’ Operating a drug factory.
β€’ Misrepresentation of drugs
β€’ Marijuana possession
β€’ Possession of drug paraphernalia
β€’ Cocaine possession
β€’ Operating a motor vehicle under suspension

Finnegan was held on a $250,000 surety bond Wednesday night, police said.
