E.O. Smith Boys Edged in Class MM Track and Field Championships

The Panthers had an individual champion and 11 other placewinners to capture second place.

NEW BRITAIN, CT — One of the closest team competitions in recent years took place Wednesday at the Class MM track and field championships at Willow Brook Park.

Just eight points separated the top four boys teams, with Masuk prevailing with 64 points to 62.5 for E.O. Smith, 61 for Weston and 56 for Windsor. It is the first time Windsor has not won its division since 2010.

After five straight team titles in Class M, the Tolland girls moved up to Class MM and won with 100 points, easily outdistancing the 79 for runnerup Avon. Hillhouse was third.
