E.O. Smith Girls Ranked in Cross Country Top 10

The top boys and girls cross country teams in the state were ranked by coaches, and the results published on www.ctxcpoll.com.​

Xavier and Glastonbury maintained the top positions in the latest weekly high school cross country coaches poll, compiled by Amity Regional boys coach Jon Faitsch and published on www.ctxcpoll.com.

Xavier copped eight of 11 first-place votes to lead the way among the boys, while Staples received the other three. For the girls, Glastonbury was not a unanimous selection for the first time in four weeks, drawing 13 top votes from the 16 coaches voting; Pomperaug's girls garnered three first-place votes.

The girls team from E.O. Smith placed 10th in the most recent balloting.

The class championship meets are scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 28 at Wickham Park in Manchester.
