ECSU Runner Injured In Mansfield Hit-And-Run Incident
A runner from Eastern Connecticut State University suffered minor injuries after being hit by a car last week in Mansfield, a report says.
MANSFIELD, CT — State police are looking for the driver of a car that hit a member of the Eastern Connecticut State University women's cross country team last week.
According to a state police report, the 19-year-old student-athlete was running from Eastern's Campus to the athletic complex just after 9 p.m. The area is generally well-lit.
The runner and another member of the team crossed a Route 6 off-ramp when a vehicle described as a red Toyota Rav 4 stopped, then began moving again and hit the runner on both knees and an arm, according to a state police report. She suffered minor injuries, according to the report.

The vehicle left the scene and was seen on Mansfield City Road heading toward Willimantic. The driver is being described as an "older woman in her 50s with gray hair," state police said.
