'Electric Scooter,' Car Collide in Storrs Crosswalk Mishap

STORRS, CT β€” A can and what state police called "an electric scooter" collided in a crosswalk

The incident took place at 4 p.m. on May 25

According to a state police crash report, a 34-year-old -East Hartford resident was slowing down toward the Storrs Road-Frontage Road intersection on a "electric scooter" in order to use the crosswalk.

A 73-year-old North Windham woman driving a 2016 Subaru Outback was stopped at the intersection, but then began "inching" forward in an effort to make a right turn and hit the scooter driver in the crosswalk, according to a crash report.

The scooter driver was transported to Windham Hospital with a minor injury. according to a crash report. The driver of the car was given a verbal warning for the incident.
