This ballet workshop will begin with 45 minutes of barre work, incorporating the concepts of the Russian (Vaganova) ballet technique. Students will then learn a short solo variation from a classical ballet, modified to accommodate all ability levels. To attend this class, dancers should have a minimum of 4 years of training, and be taking intermediate or advanced level ballet classes.

Jeanne Giroir studied at the School of American Ballet in NYC and the Harkness Ballet. A principal dancer with the Hartford Ballet for 15 years, she danced such roles as the Sugar Plum Fairy/Clara in “The Nutcracker”, Juliet in “Romeo and Juliet”, and the Maiden in “Carmina Burana.” She has taught at the School of the Hartford Ballet, the Hartford Conservatory and is currently on the faculty of the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts.
