
Learn how to set up a solar energy system for your home by attending four classes at the Mansfield Community Center. Topics include: The electrical energy grid and its organization, conventional and alternative energy sources and their pros and cons, setting up a grid tied home solar array, and solar photovoltaic for backup power, camping and off-grid applications.
Solar Energy for the Home
Instructor: Martin Fox is both a medical doctor and a doctor of philosophy. He is retired from the University of Connecticut's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. For the last 10 years, his primary research interest has been power engineering with an emphasis on solar energy.
