Fire Interrupts Sunday Breakfast at Popular Mansfield Restaurant

Fire officials are still investigating the blaze.

MANSFIELD, CT — Fire officials are investigating a Sunday morning blaze at a popular breakfast and lunch restaurant.

Mansfield Deputy Fire Chief-Operations William Jordan saoid the fire at Toast Restaurant broke out at 8:30 a.m. Sunday. The restaurant at 625 Middle Turnpike at the Four Corners was busy with breakfast customers, who had to be evacuated, he said.

The fire caused "minimal damage," Jordan said.

The Mansfield, University of Connecticut, Willington Hill, South Willington and Willimantic sent fire crews and Tolland, South Coventry and Willimantic sent ambulance crews to the scene, he said.
