Former Storrs Teacher's Aide Faces More Sexual Assault Charges

The case reportedly stems from having sexual relationships with students at E.O. Smith High School.

A former E.O. Smitih High School teacher’s aide and coach reportedly is facing another set of charges stemming from alleged sexual relationships with students.

Geoffrey Gillette, 22, was arrested by Connecticut State Police on two counts of second-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a child at the Mansfield Drive-in around 8 p.m. Friday, according to WFSB.

Gillette, who no longer works for the school district, was a teacher’s assistant and an assistant coach on the girls track team at E.O. Smith High School.

The incidents reportedly occurred with three separate students and began in 2013, according to the report. And Gillette apparently has continued a consensual relationship with a 17-year-old student, according to the WFSB report which can be found here.

According to the Connecticut Judicial Branch website, Gillette already has pending second-degree sexual assault and risk of injury charges. He was arrested by state police Oct. 28 in connection with an incident that occurred July 1, 2013, according to the Judicial Branch records. He had been free on $50,000 bond for that case and is due back in state Superior Court in Rockville Dec. 23, according to the Judicial Branch.
