Gampel Getting Sound System Upgrade

STORRS, CT — Public address announcements for University of Connecticut games at Gampel Pavilion will be more distinct — and maybe even a bit louder — come fall.

Work has begun on Gampel's new sound system. UConn Athletic department officials are calling it "a much needed upgrade."

The sound system hangs from the domed roof at Gampel. The work follows a project that fixed the liner in time for the 2017-18 basketball season. The roof had been leaky and ceiling liners had been peeling.
