Gas Pedal Mishap Leaves Lot, Car Damaged At Mansfield Senior Center

MANSFIELD, CT β€” A vehicle mishap at the Mansfield Senior Center Friday left both the car and parking lot damaged, state police said.

The incident took place at 11:38 a.m.

According to a state police crash report an 84-year-old Storrs woman was attempting to adjust the alignment of her 2013 Subaru Legacy in a parking spot when she accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the brake pedal.

The car then hit a concrete bollard, which was dislodged and slammed into the pavement, according to a crash reoprt. The pavement at the base of the post was damaged and the car sustained minor damage, according to a crash report.

No injuries were reported. The driver was issued a verbal warning for unsafe movement, state police said.
