Guidelines for Submitting Letters to the Mansfield-Storrs Patch Editor

MANSFIELD-STORRS, CT — The official beginning of autumn is still a few days away, but in some Patch communities, election campaigns are in full swing, and with that comes the inevitable letters to the editor.

Mansfield-Storrs Patch has established some basic rules to which letter writers should adhere:

• Patch Media welcomes letters to the editor on local topics, and reserves the right to edit letters for brevity or clarity.
• Acceptable letters regarding political candidates will refer to the positive qualities of the candidate; letters which are considered negative toward a candidate's opponent will be edited or unpublished.
• Please focus letters on state races, not national.
• Email letters, including the writer's name, address and phone, to chris.dehnel@patch.com.
• Deadline for letters is Oct. 31; letters received after that date will not be published.
