Haddad Again Appointed To Top CT House Education Position
The appointment was announced Tuesday.

HARTFORD, CT — Connecticut Speaker of the House Matt Ritter (D-Hartford) and House Majority Leader Jason Rojas (D-East Hartford, Manchester) Tuesday announced the appointment of state Rep. Gregg Haddad (D-Mansfield) as House Chair of the Higher Education Committee.
"Gregg is committed to making higher education accessible and affordable," Ritter said. “Students have a true ally leading the Higher Ed Committee.”
"Rep. Haddad has become a go-to person for higher education and workforce development issues," Rojas said. “He has a deep understanding of the challenges facing higher education while remaining cognizant of the opportunities and necessity to provide our students with the resources they need to complete their studies. Rep. Haddad is focused on affordability, expanding access and ensuring that colleges and universities serve as economic engines for communities and the state."

It's a repeat term.
"I am honored that Speaker Ritter and Majority House Leader Rojas asked me to serve as the House Chair of the Higher Education Committee for another term,” Haddad said. "We will continue to provide leadership and a strategic vision to serve Connecticut’s nearly 200,000 students enrolled in higher education. In the last few years, the state saw a decline in enrollment because of the many challenges associated with the pandemic. We will continue to advocate for the resources students need to support themselves and have the best learning experience."
