He Is Not Strong and Powerful Who Throweth People Down!

“He is not strong and powerful who throweth people down, but he is strong and powerful who holdeth himself from anger,” said an old wise man many years ago named Mohammed the Prophet.

Sometimes anger has a way of getting the best of us, doesn't it? Can you remember a time when you lost your cool? Did you do something you later regretted? You probably weren't at your best at that moment, right? 

I know what you’re thinking… “Well, that person deserved it!”

I’m sure that you've heard the old adage that there is a time and place for everything.

Well, last night at that party or today in school or even tomorrow at work, probably isn't the right time or place to throw somebody down and make them feel small. It's wrong! A true leader doesn't need to make others feel small in order for him or her to feel big.

A real leader never lashes out at people with anything but kindness. When a real leader is frustrated they vent through the proper channels. The proper channels involve the gym, or sports where they get to physically take out their frustrations and get rewarded for it-rather than arrested for it. Whoa!!!

So the next time someone frustrates you remember that you’re not Pavlov’s Dog. Other peoples’ created stimulus shouldn't create a hasty thoughtless response from you. Don't fall into this trap of doing something stupid that you're sure to regret.

            Instead, the next time someone throws an uncomfortable stimulus your way, I want you to pause... smile... and think about your response. Then kill them with kindness. This behavior is what will make you truly strong, powerful, respected, and a great leader!

Now teens, go learn, lead, and lay the way to a better world for all of us. And remember, he is not strong and powerful who throws people down, but he is strong and powerful who holds himself from anger.
