Holiday Happenings, Health Programs and More at The Mansfield Senior Center

The center's holiday bazaar with a pot-luck lunch is this Saturday.

Here’s what’s happening at the Mansfield Senior Center during December.

The Herrmman Blood Pressure Clinic: Dec. 3, at 11:30 a.m. at the Mansfield Senior Center. This Blood Pressure Clinic is available to those 55 years of age and older on a first come, first serve basis. There is no cost of the clinic and no pre-registration is required.

VNA East: Wednesday, Dec. 3: 1 to 3 p.m. call 860-429-0262 ext. 4 for an appointment.

Holiday Bazaar: Saturday, Dec. 6 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Shop until you drop for toys, books, jewelry, Christmas decorations, attic treasures, handmade knitted and quilted items. There’s also a pot-luck lunch with homemade soups, hot dogs and baked goods.

Keeping Connected through the Holidays: Monday, Dec. 15 at 1 p.m. Presented by the Ct. Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. Identifying challenges associated with the holidays and dementia/ memory loss.

Third Wednesday Event: Dec. 17 at noon: Annual Holiday Celebration. A pot roast dinner with mashed potatoes, broccoli and apple pie will be served. The center’s version of the Rockettes, the Sparkettes, and The Senior Center Chorus will perform the melodies of the season. Cost is $5 per person. Please register at the Front Desk by Dec. 9.

Low Vision Support Group: Wednesday, Dec. 10 at 11 a.m. Support, Friendship and Helpful Tips.

“Count Down To Noon” Wednesday, Dec 31 at 10:30 a.m.: Enjoy a traditional Pennsylvannia Dutch New Year’s meal of roast pork, mashed potatoes, sauerkraut and a fudge brownie for dessert. Count down the seconds to noon and celebrate with a sparkling cider toast around the fountain. Sign up and pay at the front desk by Dec. 17. Cost: $5.

Cancelled: Caregivers Support Group meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 17. Normally held at the Mansfield Senior Center once a month, for those individuals who are impacted by the responsibilities of caring for someone.
