A large party on Saturday clogged up the main road through Mansfield, state police said.

MANSFIELD, CT — State police Saturday had to clear "hundreds" of pedestrians from Route 195 in connection with a large party at a residence on the road, which is near the University of Connecticut.
State police said in a report that they encountered about 500 people at the party at 1096 Storrs Road and several hundred more were clogging up Route 195 on their way to the festivities.
So may people were congregating and walking in the road that the crowd created a "significant traffic hazard," state police said.
