MANSFIELD, CT — The itsy bitsy spider apparently came up in front a driver on Route 195 in Mansfield and her car then hit a transit bus in the following mayhem, according to a state police crash report.

The crash occurred at 11:45 on Saturday, state police said.

At that time, a transit bus was heading north on Route 195 near Bassetts Bridge Road in Mansfield and a passenger car was traveling south on Route 195, according to a crash report.

The driver the 2017 Honda Accord became distracted by a spider in the vehicle and it drifted over the center line and side-swiped the Windham Transit District bus, according to a crash report.

The vehicles sustained what state police described as "functional damage."

All 10 aboard the bus escaped injury, as did the driver of the car, a crash report indicates.

A crash report does not indicate what happened to the spider.
