John Bell, Dassia Posner and Claudia Orenstein Book Release in Storrs

John Bell, Dassia Posner and Claudia Orenstein will discuss their new book The Routledge Companion to Puppetry and Material Performance, which grew out of work presented at the 2011 International Puppetry Conference at UConn.

The book offers a wide-ranging perspective on how scholars and artists are currently re-evaluating the theoretical, historical, and theatrical significance of performance that embraces the agency of inanimate objects.

John Bell is the Director of the Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry, a puppeteer with Great Small Works and Bread and Puppet Theatre, and an Associate Professor of Dramatic Arts at UConn.

Dassia Posner is theatre historian, dramaturg, and puppeteer and Assistant Professor of Theatre at Northwestern University. Claudia Orenstein is Associate Professor of Theatre at Hunter College and the Graduate Center at CUNY.
