Jonathan and the Legislators at UConn Take 1 ... 2 ... 3 ... Etc.

It took a while, but two lawmakers finally had their picture with the UConn mascot.

STORRS, CT — All two local legislators wanted was a picture with Jonathan, the University of Connecticut mascot, at last week's official opening of the new Next Generation Hall on campus.

Easier said than done, however.

After several takes, state Sen. Mae Flexer, D-Danielson and state Rep. Gegory Haddad, D-Mansfield, finally had their photo.

At first, Jonathan took his time walking a few steps away from the ribbon-cutting area. Others, of course, had to pet him on the way.

Then, he would not look up.

People kept walking in front of the camera.

The most popular Husky finally looked the right way and Flexer and Haddad had their photo.

"That was worth it," Flexer said while laughing.
