A “Hazardous Weather Outlook” has been issued for all Connecticut on Friday and the state could see between 1 and 2 inches of rain on Friday.
In southern Connecticut, the National Weather Service states a low pressure system will approach the area tonight and impact Friday's weather.

There is a “threat for flash flooding” that exists from thunderstorms late tonight into Friday afternoon with a limited threat for severe weather. The weather service does say that the forecast concerning the unsettled weather on Friday is still very much subject to change and they will continue to pinpoint it.
For northern Connecticut, the weather service says there is a chance for locally heavy rain after midnight Thursday tonight as showers and a few thunderstorms move into the area, which could impact the early Friday commute.
And then on Friday afternoon and early evening there is a chance for heavy rain and potential flooding as thunderstorms move through the area.

Updated forecast via the National Weather Service:
Today: Sunny, temps around 90 on the coast and near 95 degrees inland.
Tonight: A chance of rain and thunderstorms largely after midnight which could produce heavy rain for brief periods.
Friday: Rain and thunderstorms possible and up to an inch of rain is possible in Hartford and Tolland counties. Up to 2 inches of rain is possible in southern Connecticut. Rain may be heavy at times. Rain tapers off late in the evening.
The weekend still looks unsettled but Saturday during the day looks like the best of the two days as sun is forecast before showers are possible Saturday night.
Sunday looks cloudy with a 50 percent chance of rain during the day and evening.
