Man Charged in Brutal Mansfield Choking Incident: Report

The man is accused of punching and choking a Mansfield resident, state police said.

MANSFIELD, CT — A Bloomfield man is facing several charges after a brutal choking incident at a Mansfield home, state police said.

State police did to disclose the address of the Wednesday incident and only disclosed the age of the victim in an arrest report — a 26-year-old woman.

Lloyd Morris, 31, of Bloomfield, has been charged with third-degree strangulation, third-degree assault, interfering with an emergency call, disorderly conduct, third-degree criminal mischief and third-degree burglary, according to an arrest report.

His bond was initially set at $50,000 but that was increased to $150,000 when he appeared in court the following day. He is still being held and is due back before a judge on July 5, according to court records.

According to an arrest report, Morris forced his way into a Mansfield resident, punched the victim several times, prevented the victim from calling 911 and had her in a choke hold.
