Man Eats Sushi, Steals Beverages, Gets Chased Across Busy Mansfield Road — in Front of a Trooper: Report

He was eventually chased down and arrested, state police said.

MANSFIELD, CT — A local man was chased across Route 195 by a Big Y staff member after he helped himself to two helpings of sushi, grabbed some flavored malt beverages and ran from the supermarket, state police said.

The man, identified as 19-year-old Mark Dorgan of Ravine Road in Mansfield, was eventually arrested by a trooper who saw the chase and charged him with sixth-degree larceny, police said.

At about 5:30 p.m,. Sunday, A trooper was on patrol in an unmarked Dodge Charger when he saw Dorgan run across the road, according to an arrest report. The trooper then saw a Big Y staffer in pursuit, according to an arrest report.

The trooper was able to chase Dorgan down and arrest him, according to a report. Dorgan is accused of eating two servings of fresh sushi and then taking a 12-pack of Bud Light Ras-Ber-Ita before running from the store without paying, according to an arrest report.
