Man Facing Six-Figure Bond for Mansfield Snapchat Threats

He was being held after an initial court appearance.

MANSFIELD, CT — An Ashford man is facing criminal charges and a high bond for Snapchat posts run amok, state police said.

Thomas Rogers, 20, of 57 Fitts Road, Ashford, was charged on May 2 with second-degree harassment, threatening and disorderly conduct, state police said. The victim is the case is an 18-year-old male from Mansfield, state police said.

He posted several "threatening comments" posted about the boy in March on the social media app Snapchat, according to an arrest report.

He surrendered at the state police Troop C barracks and was held on a $100,000 bond, state police said.

Rogers appeared on court later on May 2 and a judge kept the bond and he remained in custody, according to court records. He is due back in court on May 16, judicial records indicate.
