Man Takes Back Impounded Car In Mansfield, Now Facing Felony Charge

MANSFIELD, CT β€” A man is facing a felony charge for taking a car off a lot that had been impounded in Mansfield.

At 12:58 p.m. Friday, state troopers were dispatched to T&B Motors at 460 Storrs Road after being alerted to a man taking a Honda Accord from the impound lot without paying his tab.

The man drove away, but Troopers tracked it down at Domino's Pizza.

The man, identified as a 20-year-old from Wallingford, was charged with third- and sixth-degree larceny and second-degree criminal trespass. Third-degree larceny is a felony.

The man posted a $10,000 bond and is due to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Feb. 27. according to an arrest report.
