Man Tried to Hold up Mansfield Gas Station: Cops

The attempted theft took place Friday morning.

MANSFIELD, CT – State Police detectives from Eastern District Major Crime Squad are

investigating an attempted armed robbery that occurred Friday morning.

On Friday at approximately 8:40 a.m., troopers from Troop C-Tolland responded to the Mobil
gas station located at 9 Stafford Road, in Mansfield, for a reported attempted robbery, state police said.

A store clerk reported that an Hispanic male entered the store, displayed a
handgun and attempted to rob the store, state police said.

After the store clerk refused to give the suspect any money, the suspect fled, state police said.

The suspect is being described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5-foot-10 wearing a dark winter coat with
a hood, grey sweat pants and white sneakers.

His face was covered with a blue and white bandana, state police said.

identity is asked to call detectives at 860-896-3236 or text TIP711 with any information to 274637.
