Mansfield Middle School Teacher Lauded For Fundraising
A local middle school teacher is being recognized for starting a fund to support people during the pandemic.
MANSFIELD, CT — A middle school teacher is being honored after he started a community fund that has raised more than $13,000. All of the funds from Louis Goffinet's project, Neighbors Grocer Relief, will go toward assisting families facing difficult financial situations.
Goffinet's efforts are being lauded by State Representative Gregory Haddad (D-Mansfield), who issued a call for nominations of individuals in the Mansfield who are going above and beyond, working and volunteering to help the community through the challenges of social distancing under Covid-19.
"Thank you for your time and dedication, Louis Goffinet," Haddad said in a statement. "For those who wish to contribute, they can help sustain Louis’ work by contributing to the Neighbors for Grocery Relief Fund on Facebook."

For his organizing efforts these past weeks, two separate people—Heather and Julia—nominated Louis.
Heather wrote; “He flies under the radar. Most people are unaware of the work he is doing every day to support families in our small, rural community. I'd love for him to be recognized for his unselfish work.”
