Mansfield Obituary: Irene Roy, 84

Irene Roy, 84, of Mansfield, wife of the late Donat Roy, died Tuesday July 25, 2017 at Mansfield Center for Nursing.

She was born March 8, 1933 in Canada, the daughter of the late Regis and Anna (Morin) Berube. Irene worked for 15 years at Hartford Hospital. She enjoyed gardening, bowling, playing Yahtzee, baking and watching wrestling. She also enjoyed having a beer and playing cribbage but most importantly being with her family.

Irene is survived by a son Ronald Roy and his wife Lucille, three daughters, Ginette Gagnon and her husband Richard, Pauline Eurto and Nancy Blay and her husband Dave; three brothers and two sisters; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son Robert Roy; two daughters, Denise Schaffer and Linda Proto; a granddaughter Jessica Proto; great grandson Brayden Jones, and two brothers.

Irene’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday July 29, 2017 at 10:00am at St. Mary’s Church Coventry, 1600 Main St. Coventry, with assembly at Church. Burial to follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Coventry.
