Introduced to each other by their fathers, Alfred Sadow and Andrew Zlotnick, childhood friends from Minsk, Russia, George and Zenia had their first date at Dianaβs Pool, Chaplin. George so impressed Zenia with his cliff diving skills that four days later they were engaged. The Brooklyn, NY native married George on November 15, 1947 and moved to Ashford.
She was a gifted pianist, vocalist, cook, hardworking wife and mother, supporting George with the chicken farming and excavation/construction business he started in 1954. She was crowned Connecticut Poultry Lady of the Year in 1958. As their farm and business expanded, so did her family which brought them to Storrs Road, Mansfield, where they remain today in the house that George built.
