Mansfield To Present Recommendations On Northwest Neighborhood Vision

MANSFIELD, CT — The Town of Mansfield has scheduled a presentation on the draft Northwest Mansfield Vision and Strategy Plan for March 12.

The meeting is slated for 6:30 p.m. — in person — in the in Council Chambers at Town Hall, 4 South Eagleville Road.

There is also an option to watch the presentation virtually.

Here is an overview:

The Town of Mansfield, in collaboration with its consultant FHI Studio (now IMEG), will present
the Northwest Mansfield Vision and Strategy Plan to the Town Council and Planning and
Zoning Commission. The plan can be downloaded HERE.

The meeting includes an opportunity for public comment. Written comments on the draft plan
will be accepted through the end of April 2025. Those who choose to attend virtually or

This initiative, launched in 2023 ahead of the 2025 Mansfield Tomorrow Plan of Conservation
and Development (POCD) update, is a community-driven effort to create a vision and strategy
specifically for Northwest Mansfield.

While many of the plan’s recommendations may apply town-wide, the focus on this area was driven by key factors, including:

• The pace of development
• The closure of Goodwin Elementary School

The area’s unique characteristics, such as:

• Access to public water, sewer, sidewalks, and public transit
• Diverse housing options for families, seniors, and students
• A network of sidewalks, trails, and open spaces

The Northwest Mansfield Vision and Strategy Plan provides a framework for managing growth,
investment, and conservation in this part of town. It will also be incorporated into the updated
Mansfield Tomorrow Plan of Conservation and Development.
