Mansfield Residents' Amazon Complaints Sparking Letter From Lawmaker
Mansfield residents are saying Amazon isn't performing in Prime time.

MANSFIELD, CT — State Rep. Gregg Haddad (D-Mansfield) said Friday he will "address" Amazon.com Inc. with a letter in response to "numerous complaints" he has received about residents experiencing "significant delivery delays."
Some of the complaints were lodged by Prime members, he said. Haddad added that residents have complained that delays are often "excessive" compared to surrounding towns. Some residents said they can receive deliveries within shorter timeframes by selecting a delivery location outside the town's boundaries, according to Haddad.
Haddad said a parent at his daughter's basketball game first alerted him to the delivery delays. Haddad said it prompted him to research delivery times for several products on his own. While not all products have delayed delivery estimates, most did, he said.

Several items were delayed as much as a full week when a delivery site in Mansfield was selected when compared to a neighboring town, Haddad said. That was even the case with delivery dates for Mansfield residents who have a Prime membership, costing $14.99 per month or $139 per year for services that include "expedited delivery," he said.
"I am writing to Amazon to ask that them to correct a troubling disparity in the delivery times promised to customers in Mansfield when compared to delivery times for other communities in the region," Rep. Haddad. "As the holiday season approaches and demand for Amazon's services and products is at a peak, I ask for their full attention to resolving systematic delays in deliveries to sites in Mansfield, Connecticut."

Rep. Haddad said he will send the letter to Amazon to ensure the company "is held accountable to their customers and paying Prime members by investigating this matter and correcting delivery services to Mansfield residents."
