Mansfield and Storrs Might Get Some Forrest Gump Rain on Friday, But Otherwise a Good UConn Move-In Weekend on Tap
A pleasant weather pattern should extend into back-to-school week.

If everyone in in and around Mansfield and Storrs Connecticut gets through the early afternoon period on Friday's freshmen move-in period without getting soaked, then it’s a good start to the weekend.
But after a possible deluge forecast for the the University of Connecticut and Mansfield into Friday afternon, the weekend looks downright pleasant in a meteorological pattern the National Weather Service said is expected to last well into what is back-to-school week for most communities in the state.

The National Weather Service is warning Connecticut residents of a chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2 p.m., Friday, then a slight chance of showers. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Otherwise, Friday should be partly sunny, with a high near 88 and a south wind 5 to 7 mph shifting to the west in the afternoon. In all, Friday’s chances of precipitation are 30 percent with new rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, but higher amounts if a thunderstorm decides to visit the state..
