Mansfield Woman Charged After Year-Long Eastern Connecticut Route 6 Crash Investigation

The crash took place in February 2025, state police said.

MANSFIELD, CT — A Mansfield woman is facing a pair of charges in connection with a year-long crash investigation out of Killingly, state police said.

Kayla Fitch, 32, of Mansfield, was charged via a warrant served Wednesday with reckless driving and second-degree assault.

According to a warrant, Fitch was engaging in "multiple unsafe passing maneuvers" with another vehicle on the eastbound side of Route 6 in February of 2025.

The two cars collided and then hit a third vehicle, according to a warrant.

She at first left the scene of the crash, but was tracked down a short time later and taken to an area hospital, according to a warrant.

Another person involved in the crash was injured, according to a warrant.

Fitch posted a $50,000 bond and is due for a second court appearance on March 17, judicial system records show.
