Manslaughter Charge Filed in 2016 Mansfield-Ashford Overdose Case
A woman was arrested for manslaughter on Monday in a 2016 case.

MANSFIELD/ASHFORD, CT — A North Windham woman has been charged with second-degree manslaughter in the case of a fatal overdose a year ago, state police said late Monday night.
Jessica Hill, 46, had already been accused of conspiring with an Ashford woman to steal morphine from the woman's place of employment — a Mansfield oral surgery center, according to a warrant.
A Sept. 8, 2016, drug binge involving the two proved fatal for Hill's friend, who was found by her children in the home, according to a warrant.

Troopers from the Eastern District Major Crime Squad began investigating an overdose and determined that Hill had conspired with the now-dead woman to steal the morphine and bring the stolen drugs to Ashford to use at the now-dead woman's residence, according to a warrant.
Hill is due in court on Oct. 11 after posting a $50,000 bond, state police said.
