Occupation: Electrical engineer, retired.

Political Experience: Took active interest in town issues beginning with charter revision in 2006. Subsequently opined publicly on other matters such as town finances, the Storrs Center project, and various ordinances like ethics and off-street parking.

Other Experience: Worked in private industry as engineer. Also taught electronics at the community college level.

Why did you want to serve on the council? Stop the growth of government; bring expenses within the bounds of revenues.

What will be your primary areas of focus? Prioritize - distinguish between needs and wants. Avoid debt. Control costs at the schools and the Storrs Center project.

What do you feel is the biggest issue facing Mansfield today? Mitigating the fiscal damage to the town brought on by the Storrs Center project. Failure to avoid debt, complacency as costs of schools and pensions escalate, will lead to a fiscal crisis.

What skills do you have that you will bring to the community? I think I can articulate the need to apply to town finances the same common sense approach I've used in managing personal finances.
