More Details Released on Sunday Head-on Crash in Mansfield

Life Star helicopter was sent to the scene.

MANSFIELD, CT — State police have released more details regarding a head-on crash that took place Sunday.

They said at 3:48 p.m. a 2000 Kia Sephia driven by 44-year-old Robert Dickinson was heading north on Route 32 near Old Kent Road. Douglas Lowe, 65, was in a 2006 Toyota Tacoma heading south when he crossed the double-yellow line and slammed into the Kia, state police said.

Both are from Willimantic and seemed to have serious injuries at the scene state police said. They were taken to area hospitals, state police said. Dickinson was taken by Life Star helicopter, state police said.

Two passengers in the Kia seemed to have minor injuries, state police said.
