Motorcyclist Dies After Crash In Mansfield: Police

A second motorcyclist was injured in the incident, police said.

MANSFIELD, CT — A motorcyclist died after a crash Saturday in Mansfield, according to police.

The incident occurred about 4 p.m. on Middle Turnpike east of Bone Mill Road, said state police, who identified the victim as Roy S. Herzlich, 60, of Bloomfield.

Herzlich and a 71-year-old man from East Hartford were traveling west on Harley-Davidson motorcycles when an Audi A4 going east struck Herzlich’s bike head-on, causing the two motorcycles to collide, according to police. The 71-year-old suffered minor injuries and was taken to Windham Hospital, while the driver and passenger in the Audi, a 21-year-old man from New York City and a 21-year-old woman from Glastonbury, were not hurt, police said.
