Mountain Dairy Milk Truck Goes Missing in Mansfield

The farm owners said it was stolen.

MANSFIELD, CT - The milkman might be gone but a local farm hopes the truck he used comes back.

The owners of Mountain Dairy said on the farm Web site that an old milk delivery truck was stolen Monday night from the farm's property at 50 Stearns Road.

The owners said they are working with the state police Troop C barracks in trying to recover the truck.

Mountain Dairy and the Stearns family have produced and distributed milk and milk products locally and throughout Connecticut for more than 144 years. The milk is produced and bottled at the sprawling hilltop farm. The farm is in its 10th generation of family ownership.

Home delivery was abandoned some time ago and the milk is sold through area stores.
