Multiple Units Respond to Fire at UConn

STORRS., CT — Firefighters from the University of Connecticut, Mansfield, Tolland, and Coventry responded to a Tuesday afternoon fire at the Torrey Life Sciences Building, Tolland Alert said.

The fire was reported at about 3:05 p.m.

UConn Spokeswoman Stephanie Reitz said from the scene that the fire broke out in a lab area and was quickly extinguished.

No one was injured, she said.

Classes were canceled for the remainder of the day at Torrey and a normal class scheduled was maintained at all other campus buildings, she said.
