The restaurant's opening marks the return of fine dining to the Spring Hill neighborhood. The building has served as a welcoming waypoint for travelers since at least 1951, when the home was purchased by Edith McComb and named Altnaveigh.
While the inn continued to welcome visitors, the restaurant paused operations for several years. Neupane, who purchased the building in 2021, said he hopes to revive the
tradition of the historic home as a dining destination with the opening of his new restaurant.
"With years of experience under my belt, I'm excited to launch The Tavern at Spring Hill," he said. "My biggest hope is to create amazing experiences and opportunities for everyone who walks through our doors. And as time goes by, I can’t wait to introduce the community with outdoor seating, catering, and events that anyone might want to host here. I cannot wait to bring a landmark, historic building back to life for the community."
