Newborn Abandoned On Hood Of Car In Mansfield: State Police
State police are on the hunt for a man who left a baby on the hood of a car in Mansfield.

MANSFIELD, CT — State police said Thursday they are looking for a man who placed a prematurely born infant on the hood of a car in Mansfield.
At 4:17 p.m. Wednesday, state police at the Troop C barracks received a 9-1-1 call from a woman who said that a man placed an infant on the hood of her parked vehicle on Pleasant Valley Road in Mansfield.
The woman told state police that the man fled in a dark-colored vehicle as she returned to her own vehicle, according to a report.

The infant was transported to an area hospital for treatment and later determined to be a 28-to-30 week old premature newborn, according to state police. The infant is currently listed in stable condition, state police said.
The Eastern District Major Crime squad is investigating the incident. The man is being described as Hispanic, with a heavyset build and short black hair. He was wearing a black, long-sleeve t-shirt and black jogger-style pants, state police said.
