Pair Of Specialized Police Dogs On The Job At UConn
Two UConn Police canines are now trained in explosives detection.

STORRS, CT — The University of Connecticut has a pair of new police dogs with special training.
Officer Erica Goulet and canine Roma and Officer Susannah Hildebidle and canine Kora were both part of the Connecticut State Police K-9 Training Unit's 259th K-9 Training Troop, specializing in explosive detection.
The teams trained to detect and alert their handlers to the presence of explosives have begun working at UConn.

The graduating explosive detection dog teams are capable of searching for and locating military, commercial, and improvised explosive devices within buildings, passenger and commercial motor vehicles, mass transit vehicles and venues, luggage, parcels, lockers, open areas, and persons.
