Pedestrian Gets Verbal Warning After Being Hit By Car In Mansfield

MANSFIELD, CT — A pedestrian was deemed to be at fault after getting hit by a car on Route 195 in Mansfield, state police said.

The incident took place at 3:33 p.m. on May 2, state police said.

According to a crash report, q 2004 BMW Z4 being driven by an 81-year-old Storrs man, was headed north near Dog lane, when he stopped to turn into a parallel parking space. That's when an an 18-year-old Willimantic woman stepped into the parking space to cross the street and was hit in the hand and leg as the car was backing into the space, according to a crash report.

The woman was warned for failure to cross in a marked crosswalk.
